POLITICS

Calypso is not really into politics.  However, she supported my run for Poway City Council in 2018, with some fun rides talking to neighbors.  She was a featured attraction in getting out the vote.  She provided "a Platform" to talk to the neighbors in District One of Poway California, Calypso's home town.  Over the span of 8 weeks we drove along at about 5 to 10 MPH over the 78.44 miles of public roads of District 1.  Different neighborhoods at different times and covering the nearly 80 miles 4 times over.  Calypso was always there during the entire process of getting out and talking to people about their concerns.  I had my laptop with me powered by Calypso and I could easily get to anything I needed to support the conversation.  Now then you have to understand that I did not go banging on doors.  I made multiple trips to each section of the district and I would engage anyone I saw out and about and that had a few minutes to talk.  It was very much non-invasive and I enjoyed it immensely.  Slowly but surely I created my "Platform" about my neighbor's issues supported by Calypso the whole time.  Below on the left is a map of those streets in blue.  Lower and on the right is the city of Poway with the borders within between the four Districts 1, 2, 3 and 4.
